VIP Staffords is a small hobby kennel founded in 2022 when we welcomed our very first Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy into our family. Our journey with the breed began thanks to the late Zane Smith of Bullseye Staffordshire Bull Terriers, whose dedication to the breed helped shape the foundation of our program. We are proudly located in beautiful Northern California.
Our family has a long history of raising and exhibiting animals. Our two adult daughters grew up on our 3-acre family ranch, where we raised and bred several species of livestock. Both girls competed successfully through 4-H, FFA, and the California Junior Livestock Association (CJLA), earning numerous accomplishments along the way. Once they aged out of junior livestock shows, our family transitioned from the livestock ring back into the world of canine competition.
Our introduction to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier actually began years earlier. In 2008, while attending a UKC dog show in Roseville, California, we were actively showing American Bulldogs that we co-owned with another Northern California breeder. During that show, we met a Staffordshire Bull Terrier for the very first time. We were immediately captivated by the breed’s compact size, powerful build, and incredible personality. Although our lives at the time revolved around raising livestock, supporting our daughters’ show careers, and competing with our American Bulldogs, the Stafford left a lasting impression.
Years later, after moving off the ranch and into town, our family found ourselves without a bull breed in our home after our beloved American Bulldogs had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It wasn’t long before we remembered that remarkable little powerhouse we had met back in 2008. We began researching Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeders and were fortunate enough to reconnect with the breed through Zane Smith and Bullseye Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
In December 2022, we welcomed our first Stafford into our home, and we instantly fell in love. The rest, as they say, is history. Staffordshire Bull Terriers have exceeded every expectation we had. They are loving, intelligent, athletic, and eager companions who thrive on human interaction. Above all else, they are devoted family dogs with hearts as big as their personalities.
At VIP Staffords, our goal is to promote and preserve the wonderful qualities that make the Staffordshire Bull Terrier such a special breed. We are passionate about responsible ownership, continued learning, and sharing our love for these incredible dogs with others.
